Angely at DEFEA 2025

In May 2025, Angely joined the international defence and security industry at DEFEA — the Athens-based biennial expo that brings together governments, armed forces, and technology companies from across Europe and beyond. We set up a dedicated booth on the exhibition floor to introduce our passive concealed weapons detection system to an audience that understands, better than most, the stakes of getting security right in open environments.

Four Days on the Exhibition Floor

Over the course of the four-day event, we had in-depth conversations with procurement officers, security architects, and policy makers from multiple countries. The feedback confirmed something we already believed: the gap between what current security technology can do and what open public spaces actually need is widely felt — but rarely addressed.

DEFEA gave us the opportunity to make that case in front of exactly the right audience. We are not a defence contractor in the traditional sense, but the challenge of securing exposed, high-footfall environments — airports, event venues, transport hubs, public squares — sits squarely within the interest of the people who attended.

What We Showed

Visitors to the Angely stand were walked through the core proposition of our system:

• Passive magnetic sensing — no emissions, no interaction required from the person being scanned.
• AI-fused detection — ferromagnetic signatures cross-referenced with real-time video analysis for higher accuracy with fewer false positives.
• Live positioning — a detected threat is tracked within the venue, not just flagged at an entry gate.
• Zero operational disruption — visitors move freely; the system works invisibly in the background.

What Comes Next

DEFEA was a milestone in expanding our network within the government and defence sectors. We came away with a clearer picture of where demand is strongest, and with a number of conversations we intend to develop over the coming months.
